Throw Back Thursday (posted August 7th, 2014)

TBT: November 2008 Sanai, Egypt I awoke this first morning approximately 10 miles across the desert from the Gaza Strip. Evidently it was easy to hear the fighting when they engaged. (I’m sure this very spot is a very noisy one these days) It was a beautiful desert morning and as I positioned myself on […]

Derek Sivers

I made aquaintence with Derek Sivers back in 1995 when, at the time, he was gaining reputation as an independent music distributor. I looked him up for help on getting my 1994 Christmas album 'out there' and because of his help, it continues to sell to this day. He came to run one of the best and most efficient independent recording distribution companies I have ever heard of called 'CD Baby'.

After opening our ‘Vinyl Tap Live 2014’ season with a show in Oshawa the previous evening, we played Massey Hall the next night. The Greenest Sort of Green – Greenhouse.

This is a bit of a departure from my usual ramblings. I recently visited some of my family in Port Alberni BC, Canada and while there, looked in the backyard and was reminded of this video on YouTube. My brother Dennis and his wife Denise completed this greenhouse project a few years ago, and it […]

Hartley Bay, BC – Village of Heroes – slapped in the face

Cease & Desist just did a show last night in Hartley Bay, BC. Hartley Bay is a First Nations community on the coast of British Columbia. The village is located at the mouth of Douglas Channel, about 630 kilometres north of Vancouver and 145 kilometres south of Prince Rupert. It became most famous for it’s […]

Boingy Boingy Country Band – June 2011, Pender Harbour BC, Canada — From My Youtube Archives

I happened to be at a community day festival in Pender Harbor BC Canada in June of 2011. Although I had heard about these spring suspended drums, I had never seen them before, even in pictures. Seeing them in action was unexpected, but I could not resist the opportunity to take a video and immediately […]
