Zen Buddhism

Zen Buddhism I am one of the least ‘religious’ people you will ever meet. I am acutely skeptical of most things and I’m not easily convinced of someone else’s ‘truth’. My belief system stems from agnostic to total atheist however I struggle with the word atheist. (Quote: “The Agnostic is an Atheist. The Atheist is […]

Zero Tolerance USA 2018

Have you heard that children were separated from their parents under Obama & Clinton? Then, you need a little Facts vs Myths lesson. Michelle Martin, PhD Cal State Fullerton summed up the most important FACTS: There is so much misinformation out there about the Trump administration’s new “zero tolerance” policy that requires criminal prosecution, which […]

The Cookie Thief

Borrowed from Valerie Cox A woman was waiting at an airport one night, with several long hours before her flight. She hunted for a book in the airport shops, bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop. She was engrossed in her book but happened to see, that the man sitting beside […]

9 Things That Make You Unlikable – (Forbes Magazine)

9. Sharing too much, too early. While getting to know people requires a healthy amount of sharing, sharing too much about yourself right off the bat comes across wrong. The Vancouver Symphony May 20th, 2015

Mick Dalla-Vee with The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

The Vancouver Symphony May 20th, 2015 In 2014, we embarked (with Randy Bachman) on another quest. David Letterman

My main reason will be that David Letterman is signing off… AND… I will have to record it. I am gigging that night. It’s somewhat odd that I feel that I’m not going to be ‘in the moment’ by watching it later. Of course my feelings are silly; the show is taped at 5pm New York time… a full nine hours ahead of the Vancouver broadcast time… but when you’re a fan you’re a fan. I’m sure you ‘sports people’ get it.

Music, God and Breakdowns Grand Prairie, Alberta, May 2nd, 2015 Whenever I’m in Grand Prairie, my mind floats back to me at 18 years old, on the road with Shama. Although I thought I was emotionally prepared and mature enough to handle being out on the road, I found out by the third month of […]

TBT – The Roseland Ballroom in NYC with Bachman and Turner, November 2010

Probably one of the more memorable times in my life thus far. We were to shoot a live DVD in the infamous Roseland Ballroom in NYC (since torn down sadly). I LOVE NYC – always have from my first time there in 2007 (***). I had played there earlier with Randy Bachman’s Band in 2008 […]

Derek Sivers

I made aquaintence with Derek Sivers back in 1995 when, at the time, he was gaining reputation as an independent music distributor. I looked him up for help on getting my 1994 Christmas album 'out there' and because of his help, it continues to sell to this day. He came to run one of the best and most efficient independent recording distribution companies I have ever heard of called 'CD Baby'.
